A company’s success is intrinsically linked to its creativity. That is why we work with a permanent focus on innovation.
This has been the case since 1982, when the company began to develop varieties of pine seedlings in conjunction with many Brazilian universities and research bodies. The results of this work were the forest’s earlier maturation, higher resin productivity, and greater profitability.
It is an immense source of pride to bring together such a qualified technical team of specialized, experienced and detail-oriented professionals, ready to explore the future and anticipate improvements that, without them, would take years to become a reality.
Our team includes agronomists, foresters, chemical engineers and others without a degree, but who are equally capacitated.
It is a team that contributes daily to the success of Grupo Pinus Brasil, creating solutions that allow us to serve from small companies to global conglomerates in the most diverse sectors.
Research and Development
The mission of our Research and Development (R&D) department is to develop new products and offer innovative solutions to our clients.
A good example is in the chemicals segment, where we started with just Gum Rosin and turpentine and now have more than 30 products in their many variations and specifications.
Often, development stems from a client’s request. The client has a problem in their production process and relies on our R&D intelligence to find a solution. The solution should be feasible from manufacturing and commercial perspectives.
We receive the demand, check the details, thoroughly investigate the problem and test a huge number of solutions until we arrive at the definitive one. This applies to both development and adjustments to our products, where we need to generate added value to our partnerships.
In addition, on our own initiative, we develop and present to our clients products that can contribute to their own processes, reducing costs and creating new items for the market.
Integration and Sustainability
Grupo Pinus Brasil has the only 100% integrated production plants in the national market and one of the few in the world.
At the sawmill, we produce the biomass used to generate energy at the rosin, turpentine, and rosin derivatives production plants. The rosin and turpentine plant is integrated via piping with the rosin derivatives unit. As a result, we have a more agile production process, a reduced carbon footprint related to the transportation of raw materials, and greater use of the high temperature of the rosin, which in turn reduces energy consumption throughout the process. As a result, we have an operation based on the sustainability of the forest and the manufacturing process.Optimization of Manufacturing Resources
Grupo Pinus Brasil also works to customize products to meet the needs of specific clients who require a unique solution. We study our clients’ formulations and then create sustainable chemical solutions from reforested pine. The goal is to replace less environmentally friendly raw materials.
We anticipate our clients’ non-core production stages and supply our product already added to other raw materials. This results in less handling of raw materials, freeing up space in our clients’ production plants.
